Who is Andrea Königsberger, aka Podiatrist Andrea?

Born and raised in Austria, my professional career began with an apprenticeship as a foot care specialist. My expertise was highlighted in 2020 by successfully passing the master craftsman examination in foot care. Despite my strong roots in Austria, personal circumstances led me to Germany in 2011.

In Kassel, I passed the state recognition examination to become a podiatrist. Just one year later, in 2012, I opened my first practice in Gießen with health insurance accreditation.

To my surprise, my appointment book was fully booked after only three months, which made me realize the great need patients had for a qualified podiatrist.

Over the years in practice, I developed a desire to help the still-young profession of podiatry gain more recognition and attract new talent. This led to the creation of my YouTube channel "Podologie und mehr" (Podiatry and more) in 2017.

Originally designed to educate laypersons about various foot diseases and their treatment options, my channel has evolved into a recognized platform in the industry. With the new platforms TIKTOK and Instagram, I can now also reach and educate the younger target group.

I run my channels because many people don't even know what podiatry really is, when they need help, and how much expertise goes into a good treatment.

I want to explain foot problems in an understandable way, alleviate fear and shame, and help people seek the right support earlier. At the same time, I want to show how valuable this profession is, inspire young people to pursue podiatry, and empower colleagues with practical knowledge.

For me, my channels are not just social media. They are about education, professional politics, knowledge transfer, and contributing to foot health being taken more seriously.

Today, I am not only known for my videos but also offer further training and support colleagues in specialized topics.
